Work completed with Record Label and events platform Float, following a successful collaboration around the brand and launch of the company.
Piano Day was set up in 2015 by artist Nils Frahm to be a worldwide celebration of the piano. Float's 2017 event at Union Chapel focussed on collaboration and experimentation, combining piano with electronics, jazz and grime.
The concept was to take a similarly adventurous approach to the artwork, looking at a piano in a new way. Turning the piano inside out, and deconstructed, a library of assets of piano hammers photographed against vibrant colour was created. These formed the backbone for the visual campaign, where text was then placed playfully around the images.
